Tell us about your background and what you’ve done before joining Un.titled.

I've had a variety of roles before joining Un.titled. They have predominantly been Communications and Digital based roles at Charities and Arts & Cultural organisations, as well as working with B2B tech organisations on their data-driven, account-based marketing.

So a fun mash-up of social media, websites, blogs, podcasts, videos, automated marketing campaigns and analytics dashboards - all of which are pretty useful when it comes to our clients and their day-to-day activities.

How are you settling into the Un.titled team and what have you been working on thus far?

It's been a busy start with Un.titled - we've launched 7 websites in the three months since I joined! Despite being really busy everyone's been great and very generous with their time. I've personally been involved with launching a few of the new websites.

I’ve been working on the delivery of my previous employer's latest project, the Young Vic's new Directors' Program. It’s a project I started with Un.titled whilst I was still their client before I left the Young Vic.

I've also been back to my hometown to help deliver the new What's On Reading website, a great resource for people to find the latest cultural goings-on across the town's many venues and creative organisations.

What makes a good project manager in your opinion?

A good project manager is usually a calming presence and a voice of reason during an always busy and sometimes stressful time for clients. They are often essentially working two jobs to deliver a new website, alongside their normal workload.

For this reason I've found it really useful to have experience client-side. Having gone through the same process I can empathise with their situation and ease their woes - whether it's about time or budgetary restrictions, or working through late-notice, left-field stakeholder feedback.

You’re based at our new Bristol remote office. What’s the city like and what are your ‘must sees’ for anybody visiting?

I'm really lucky to be located at Gather Round in Bristol. It's a beautiful shared workspace in Bedminster for professionals in the creative industries. It's just opposite the Tobacco Factory Theatre and is home for a whole heap of incredibly talented creatives.

The city itself is full of creative and diverse goings on. There are some great live music venues, theatres, galleries and a whole host of artistic activities in most neighbourhoods.

Must sees are, of course, Brunel's Clifton Suspension Bridge, the climbers scaling the Avon Gorge, Banksy's Girl with the Pierced Eardrum on Spike Island, Stoke's Croft's ever evolving cafe & restaurant scene and the new(ish) Flashpoint Climbing Centre.

And see it all by bike. Bristol's big into bikes. But it's mad hilly too. So get a good bike, unlike me. Mine's wheely bad.

When you’re not managing projects, what do you like to do with your spare time?

As you might have guessed from my Bristol must sees, I spent a fair amount of my time climbing. Luckily we're spoilt for choice in Bristol with loads of places where I can attempt to not fall off things from a great height.

I've also been shooting theatre photography for the last 6 or 7 years so I normally have a camera to hand wherever I am.
