Removing Barriers, Promoting Cinema
Established in 2012, Film Hub Midlands is part of the British Film Institute’s Film Audience Network. The organisation uses National Lottery funding to provide support and training, with the aim of creating a connected approach to the development of the film industry in the British Midlands.
With the aim of creating an online presence that reflected its dynamic ethos, Film Hub Midlands engaged Un.titled to create a brand-new website built on WordPress.
The website needed to:
- Create awareness of Film Hub Midlands as an organisation
- Act as a digital platform to promote Film Hub Midlands
- Reflect the organisation’s aesthetic and style
- Engage audiences with the breadth and depth of the Film Hub Midlands offer
- Drive attendance at Film Hub Midlands and member activities
To ensure a shared vision went into the website’s creation, Un.titled ran various user experience-driven workshops and carried out some data-driven research. Detailed personas were also created in line with Film Hub Midlands’ target audience.
The website’s design and layout were completed in accordance with recently adopted Film Hub Midlands branding. This was informed by the results of the workshops and researc
As well as developing the site itself, Un.titled also helped train the Film Hub Midlands team on how to use the new website. This included the creation of various supporting documents, including content guidelines and training manuals.
Going down a Storm
The Un.titled team is no stranger to working with artistically-minded clients on creative web designs, including the Young Vic Theatre and London Sinfonietta. We used our many years of experience to create a website that has been exceptionally well received.
With the new website now live, a post project wash-up indicated Film Hub Midlands rated Un.titled strongly across factors including discovery, design, training and documentation, build, content load and launch quality, with full marks for recommending us on to others. Music to our ears!
“Un.titled helped us realise our digital vision for Film Hub Midlands at the highest standard, enabling us to connect with our audiences in a meaningful way. We learnt so much through the first discovery phase – on our audience, our brand and our aspirations. We’ve also had loads of great feedback from users and peers about the new site, which is such a nice thing.”

“I’m so pleased with the finished result. The website looks great, has great content and works really well in the context of Film Hub Midland’s ambitions. The use of film imagery throughout the site is a nice nod towards Film Hub Midland core audience and activities.”
