Strategy & UX

As well as connecting with customers, Busy B wanted to increase traffic and improve sales. To this end user journeys were carefully considered to guide users through the browsing and purchasing process. Furthermore, a content strategy was developed to ensure information displayed is relevant to device context; the purchasing user journey on mobile devices was given special attention in order to keep it as simple and easy to use as possible.

Design

Brand colours, style and detailing are used throughout to ensure the site is instantly recogniseable as Busy B and the theme was adapted and extended where necessary in order to work in the digital medium. High quality product imagery is lifted by the interface and presents Busy B’s beautiful product range in the best possible light. In order to better present products in real-world environments an image hotspot feature was developed. The hotspot feature allows individual products to be selected from a single lifestyle photograph containing multiple items. Products featured in the hotspot generally experience a strong uplift in conversion rate.

Technology

A bespoke cloud hosting platform delivers content providing a performant and reliable service for what is a business-critical website. We also developed a Magento module that reconciles orders with Busy B’s Sage accounting system.
